Hello. So, you must be searching for a Red Deer boudoir photographer? Well, you've come to the right place. Welcome to Reveal Boudoir.

I am so glad you are here, and I would love for you to stay awhile. Also I think I need to share, this IS a new blog, so it's kind of bare at the moment. Not to fear though, we'll get it rockin' soon! :)

I am located in Lacombe, Alberta, (just 20 minutes north of Red Deer, 60 minutes south of Edmonton, and 90 minutes north of Calgary) in a private loft style natural light studio. I have been offering intimate women's portraiture since 2007, and as a Professional Photographers of Canada member, I received my Accreditation in Boudoir in 2010.

I've been photographing boudoir for 10 years now, and have my Boudoir Photography accreditation from the Professional Photographers of Canada.

I service the entire central Alberta region, and not only do I shoot in my studio, but I also go on location, and outdoor boudoir. Boudoir parties are also something I'd like to do more of, so if you're in charge of a bachelorette party and thinking you want to do a boudoir party, look no further.

I am happy to share the work that makes my heart sing. I love photographing women, it's been a journey I've "happened into" many years ago. You will find my style is classy, sensual & beautiful. I love the little details, and I will put my camera down until they are just perfect. I want your experience with me to be empowering, liberating, and beautiful. Unforgettable actually.

So you've booked your first boudoir session! Congratulations!!! It's a time for celebration of you, and full preparedness, so let these tips (what NOT to do) help guide you through an amazing session of discovery!

Bad Tan Lines/Sunburn – If you have not been tanning recently, don’t tan just before your session. You can get sunburn or really bad tan lines, which are not flattering in photos. Also try to avoid spray tans, as they tend to photograph poorly.

Getting drunk at your session – If you are nervous about your session, it’s OK to have a glass of wine to rest your nerves. That said, don’t get wasted before or during your session. This is one of the worst things you can do. Your eyes will be blood shot and droopy and it’s just a recipe for disaster.

Choosing the wrong sized outfits – Choose lingerie that is just the right size for you. You don’t want loose lingerie that gives your body no shape or hides your beautiful curves. On the other hand, lingerie that is too tight can be unflattering. If it's 10 years old, best to leave that at home and find something new that fits you better.

Heavy Makeup – We strongly recommend getting a makeup artist for your session. You don’t want to slather the makeup on too thickly. It’s more about accentuating your natural features and making you feel – and look – stunning.  Ask about our in studio hair&makeup artist! She is the first step to you feeling and looking your best for your session.

Forgetting to shave/wax – Always remember to shave or wax any exposed area that needs to looks smooth and sexy. The ‘au naturel’ look is so ‘70s. Unless you’re going for that vibe, please remember this tip.

Trying to figure out what to wear at your boudoir session? We've got a few tips to help you out:

1. Wear what makes you feel sexy. Boudoir sessions are all about bringing your sexy side, so if you put something on and you feel uncomfortable, move on to the next option. Consider it sort of like searching for the perfect wedding dress. When you put it on and can't help but spin in front of the mirror or think, "Heck yes, I'm sexy!" then that is the piece you should wear on shoot day.

2. Consider what he likes, too. Maybe he loves you in the color red, or he still talks about that baby doll number you wore a couple years ago. (though I gotta say, form fitting/body hugging is better than loose fitting)  If he's into sports or a certain hobby, play into that, as well.

3. Opt for lingerie that flatters your favorite parts. If you've got an impressive rack (yes, we're going there), then choose something that really shows of that feature. Maybe you're a fan of your own derriere and want to show him the goods, too. Choose a piece that accentuates whatever features you love most about yourself.

4. Footwear matters, too. It's so easy to go into a less-than-classy vibe depending on your footwear. Our suggestion: keep it simple. Patterns, baubles, bells, whistles, and more than three inches of heel can all lean “too much.” Instead, opt for shoes that scream "sexy sophistication." FYI: Heels can also do a lady good when it comes to posture and accentuating muscles in her legs.

5. If you're still at a loss, and you haven't asked me to go shopping with you yet, ;)  snap a few photos of outfits in the store, I'd happily help you shop from afar!!

The snow is disappearing, and things are finally getting real for the spring, summer and autumn brides!! Chances are you're thinking about those last minute items, and what to give your groom should be at the very top of the list, because these things can take time!! Just imagine for a second, the morning of your wedding, the day you will marry your best friend. You have arranged for someone to give your groom this most beautiful gift of you. He opens it, and he is speechless. He may even shed a tear. Because he is marrying the most amazing woman on earth. Can you picture it? Something so meaningful, everlasting, and timeless. Just like your love for him. There is no gift more perfect.

Well, as a RedDeer boudoir photographer I can tell you that I am booking bridal boudoir sessions left and right because not only are they sweet, sultry and amazing, they also give you a chance to try out your bridal undergarments before the big day, to make sure they're the right fit, and comfortable enough to wear under that gown!! Nevermind the fact that you also deserve a little YOU time!

If you're just booking a bridal boudoir, meaning, you don't want any other clothing changes, we can turn it into a mini session if you're not booking hair and makeup time. So for those looking to save a little bit of money, this could be the perfect gift!  And for those wanting the full experience, book a full day of time away from your wedding planning, so you're not rushed and can enjoy the experience!

Sometimes a girl just needs a little extra help. When I meet with my clients before their boudoir session, (this is the consultation) their nerves can sometimes get the best of them and they forget just about everything we discussed. I'm here to save your bacon, so to speak :) I've had this handy, helpful little magazine "sitting on my digital shelf", lol, for quite some time, and I sometimes forget about how helpful it can actually be. It can serve to refresh your memory or help you get over your nerves. However you choose to use it, take it and come totally prepared for your shoot. Prepared like you own it already :) And hey, if you feel it's missing anything, questions you had that I didn't happen to answer in it, let me know, and I'll add it! Nothing worse than being unprepared for something so intensely personal right???!!!

So click the little square thingy on the bottom right to make it full screen, and read away!

She walked in perfectly poised, with an air of stunning and grace surrounding her. This new body she had made for herself looked good on her, but she’s always had this inner grace and beauty that shines outward. I knew "K" from my mall studio days, as her sweet and doting husband worked as a manager at Peavey Mart right beside me. They had previously hired me to photograph her maternity and newborn sessions. So when Ian asked me if I could sell him a gift certificate for Krista, I was excited for her, mostly because I knew how hard she had been working at her Beach Body. And knowing what starwars die hards they both are, I knew we would be having a little bit of fun :)  What a treat she was in for! Following are Krista's words about her session ~

Not going to lie, when I opened my gift certificate I thought "what the heck?? - what a dumb gift!!" But my darling husband explained he wanted to do something special for me so I could see myself as beautiful as he saw me, so I nervously booked the shoot. And for the next couple months I prepared- stuck to my nutrition plan, doubled up on workouts, and got to go shopping! And get my hair and nails done! All things I wouldn't normally do, but had to - For the Photo Shoot- and having a set date to look forward to was fun- I felt like a model. Fast forward to the day of- I was pretty anxious.... But as soon as I got all dolled up with hair and makeup I started to feel like a different person - like a real model- and I was like, you know what, I can do this. Marlene immediately set me at ease, she kept the compliments flowing and gives such clear direction that I I feel like it was more than just pictures, it was empowering and confidence boosting. We had to take a few giggle breaks and it was hard to stop smiling, it was like spending a couple hours hanging out with a positive and uplifting friend. I give the whole experience two thumbs up, 5 stars, 10/10
